Green Business Certification. The World Standard.

ISO 14001:2004 is the world’s most recognized framework for environmental management systems (EMS) - implemented from Argentina to Zimbabwe - that helps organizations to manage the impact of their activities on the environment, assist in regulatory compliance, and to demonstrate sound environmental management.

As of 2007, the system had been installed and utilized in over 154,000 organizations and companies worldwide. ISO 14001:2004 has been so effective across a wide variety of industries that is was specifically recommended to be embraced by all US Government Agencies by President Bush in Executive Order 13423 in January 2007 (“The EMS shall reflect the EMS elements and framework found in the ISO 14001:2004(E) International Standard or equivalent”). In January 2010, President Obama signed Executive Order 13514 implementing and extending the range and goals for Executive Order 13423.
