ISO 26000 - Social Responsibility

Environmental improvements are important.  However, we also believe in the Triple Bottom Line, a different way of looking at your end results.  Instead of seeing only the financial value, we visualize the impacts on People and Planet.

In a word, community.

ISO, the International Organization for Standardization, understands this situation, and has responded by developing a voluntary (non-certification) standard under the value ISO 26000:2010.  Called Guidance for social responsibility, it helps public and private organizations realize the benefits of operating in a socially responsible manner.

Organizations adopting this system may enjoy improved public outreach, employee retention and satisfaction/productivity, among many other benefits.  By focusing on seven core principles of social responsibility (available below), it helps a participating entity understand, research, and implement custom procedures to improve their commitments towards social responsibility.

7 Core Subjects:

  • Community Involvement & Development
  • Human Rights
  • Labor Practices
  • Consumer Issues
  • Environment
  • Fair Operating Practices
All of these subjects fall under the final concept of Organizational Governance.

Developing a social responsibility program would be a perfect fit along-side our ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, and especially ISO 14064-5 Greenhouse Gas Measurement & Reporting services!
