Tim Kasse brings over 30 years of process improvement and quality management experience to Darmic Consulting’s clients. He is dedicated to the success of every project to help clients achieve measureable results including: streamlined processes, immediate ROI, reduced cycle time, higher product quality, increased operational capacity, improved employee satisfaction, and greater customer satisfaction.

He is an Authorized Instructor for SEI’s Introduction to the CMMI-DEV v1.2 and Introduction to the CMMI-ACQ v1.2, an Authorized SCAMPI Class A, B, & C (CMMI-DEV v1.2) and (CMMI-ACQ v1.2) Lead Appraiser, and an SEI Certified High Maturity Lead Appraiser.

He has worked with clients in telecommunications, IT systems services, finance, engineering, defense, aerospace, process automation, and manufacturing industries, providing process improvement and quality management consulting services in the form of trainings, assessments, action planning, supplier management, and organizational change services. Furthermore, Tim has developed and provided instruction for over 20 different systems and software engineering workshops including: Requirements Engineering, Configuration Management, Quality Management, Peer Reviews, Risk Management, Measurement, Supplier Management and Organizational Change Management.

Tim has authored three technical books on assessment and process improvement and is a contributing author to three others. He has a degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Arizona and Masters in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University. Having worked in over 26 countries, Tim has intermediate language capability in German and Dutch.

Dr. Cecil Martin, Col, USAF, Ret.
CMMI Consultant & SCAMPI Appraiser

Cecil_Martin_CMMI_headshotDr. Martin helps executives to define, develop, and implement visions, strategic goals, business plans, change management programs, and technology systems under the CMMI approach. He also conducts SCAMPIs for process improvement clients.

A retired Colonel from the United States Air Force with an exceptional career spanning 25 years, his management and technical experience includes: leading and managing organizations with over 10,000 personnel in developing and maintaining automated communications and information systems, managing an annual budget of over $1B, managing worldwide organization of communications centers, and initiating annual savings of over $100M on numerous occasions. He has lead software process assessments, review, and audits at Citibank, U.S. WEST, Kaman Sciences Corp., and others nationwide.

Since 1994, Cecil has driven innovation into the management and engineering processes of his client’s organizations. He consistently demonstrates vision in leading improvements, for example Process Action Teams, for clients to deliver quality software on time and within budget.  He assists clients implement processes to achieve business goals and objectives, including CMMI and ISO standards.

While an Enterprise Architect and Systems Analyst at International Software Systems, Cecil developed and implemented the Process-Directed Software Life Cycle Support Environment (ProSLCSE), the Strategic Defense Development System Software Engineering Environment, the Distributed Design System and the Military Standard Document Conversion (MSDC) System.

He was also a Senior Manager for the Software Engineering Institute, and one of the creators of the CMMI. He developed a structured approach to technology transition that accelerates the maturation and adoption of technology. As member of Air Force Scientific Advisory Board on electronic combat, analyzed Air Force-wide electronic combat software programs, and made recommendations that were accepted and implemented. He is estimated to save the Air Force a billion dollars over time.

Colonel Martin successfully served in the United States Air Force for 24 years. He received many awards and decorations to several include Meritorious Service and Legion of Merit medals.

He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Air Force Communications and Electronics Association, Air Force Association, and Austin Process Improvement Network.

He currently teaches as Adjunct Professor in EE at the Software Quality Institute of The University of Texas at Austin. He holds a Ph.D. EE (Research in Computer and Software Engineering), Auburn University, an MS Information and Computer Sciences, Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BS Math and Education, Georgia Southern University with Honors.

Maggie Duque
Lead Quality Consultant

Maggie is a highly seasoned management consultant with comprehensive experience in process improvement, especially in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. With over twenty five years of increasing management responsibility at Florida Power and Light (FPL, Fortune 154), a publicly traded energy company, Maggie led teams of up to 150 people with budgets reaching $25M. In her career, she has created uncompounded savings of over $100M in the first year of various projects.

Career highlights include:

-As Quality Leader in the Distribution Business Unit, Maggie led a team effort to perform an operations review of the Drafting department, documenting existing processes and identifying control gaps essential to meet their customer’s requirements. By gathering data and customer requirements to analyze and improve accuracy of construction labor units used to determine resources required for new projects, Maggie’s team was able to yield over $4M savings in overhead contracted construction, and $2.4M estimated savings in renegotiated rates. She also led a multifunctional team to shorten the design cycle time of Storm Secure Process from 26 weeks to 14 weeks.

-As Power Systems Environmental Manager, Maggie was accountable for a $4.4M budget and over $19M dollars in expenses, the management of 21 employees, 60 contractors, and numerous vendors. She was responsible for environmental compliance in Power Systems, including environmental permitting, spills response, avian protection, and SPCC plans (Spill Plan Control and Countermeasures). She reduced overall costs by over 40%, by evaluating cost versus impact of initiatives and implementing improved control methods and process improvements. She created a plan to strengthen controls and meet compliance requirements with the SPCC plans of 480 substations and 60 service centers and reduced costs in this area of over $2M.

-As Manager of Recruitment and Internal Placement, FPL Group, Maggie supervised recruitment for FPL Utility and FPL group companies including executive recruitment, internal placement processes, contractor processes as well as managed 16 employees, 10 contractors, and various outside recruitment firms. She reduced the budget from over $4M to $3M while increasing number of external hires from 1200 to 1800 within the first two years and received high marks in customer satisfaction from key customers.

-As Field Collections and Outbound Telephone Collections Manager, Maggie directed 115 employees with a budget of $6 million in FPL’s Accounts Receivables Department. Maggie developed a risk model to prioritize collections accounts based on default risk, and she implemented a computer system to prioritize collectors’ work increasing productivity by almost 300% and reducing write-offs from $18 - $12M, staffing levels from 160 field collection employees to 90 full-time equivalents within the first two years.

- While working as Credit Risk, Deposit Administration, and Accounts Receivables Manager, Maggie managed Cost of Credit policies and Uncollectible Accounts Receivables with 44 employees and a $2M budget, and developed a credit risk model for large commercial customers based on financial ratings and credit history, reducing write-offs by over 20% during the first year. Furthermore, she led an effort to gather data, analyze it, and built an in-house credit risk model for residential accounts based on existing account history, therefore reducing write-offs by over $3M in the first 18 months.

She possesses superior skills in project implementation and delivery, leadership, team building, financial management, and communications. She brings a C-level perspective and hands on approach to assess her clients’ needs and solve their business problems. Maggie has a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, University of Florida, and an International MBA from Vanderbilt University. She obtained a Certificate in Strategic Planning, from Wharton School of Business, and a Certificate in Latin American Business from University of Florida. She is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt.

Jack Doherty
Lead Quality and Aerospace Management System Consultant

jack_doherty_headshotWith more than thirteen years as a Quality Management Systems Consultant for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100, AS9110 & AS9120, Jack has experience training, implementing, registering, monitoring, and performing pre-assessment audits for a wide variety of clients. His experience includes more than 1,000 management system audits.

Former Director of the University of South Florida’s Manufacturing, Training & Education Center (MTEC) and St. Petersburg Junior College’s Corporate Training Department, Jack assisted more than 250 area businesses with the successful implementation of ISO 9000 quality systems and other productivity improvement programs. He has more than 30 years experience working in Higher Education as an instructor for both graduate and undergraduate courses in Manufacturing Materials & Processes and Quality & Environmental Management Systems. He has eight years experience teaching ISO 9000 & 14000 Five Day Lead Auditor Courses and Two Day Internal Auditor Courses.

Jack spent 25 years working for the General Electric’s Aircraft Engine Division. His experience includes: Manager of Shop Operations for Aircraft Engine Assembly, Manager of Assembly Quality & Technical Planning, Design and Manufacturing Engineer, Process Improvement Team Leader, and he was responsible for the successful implementation of GE’s ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

Jack has a Master of Science Degree in Management from Lesley University, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Massachusetts. He is also a graduate of General Electric’s Manufacturers Development Program and GE’s Executive Management Development Program.

Michael G. Harrison
Senior Quality & Aerospace Management System Consultant

Michael Harrison joins DARMIC Consulting, Inc., as a Lead ISO & Aerospace Consultant. Prior to working with DARMIC Consulting, Michael performed over 250 surveillance and registrations to the ISO 9001-2000/2008, AS9100, AS9110, and AS9120 Aerospace Management Systems for a myriad of companies worldwide.

Michael has over 35 years of aerospace experience.  He worked for the U.S. Air Force and the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA).  While working at NASA, Michael performed quality evaluations of the Contractor’s quality procedures, processes, and documentation relating to the assembly, testing, and checkout of payloads on launch vehicle such as the SCOUT, Delta, Atlas, and Titan rockets, Orbiter Midbody, Space Labs, Hubble Telescope, and MIR Space Station.  He also worked on the International Space Station Program performing duties as manufacturing, testing, and inspection of NODE One Space Modula, U. S. Airlock, and assorted array systems. He then transferred to NASA’s Engineering Department where he was assigned to the Configuration Control Working Board for the baseline of the Engineering Directorates configuration control of all new projects.

Michael also acted as a Risk Management Instructor for the Safety and Mission Assurance Project Assessment Office, responsible for the development, implementation, and assessment of risk management/safety and mission assurance. He analyzed system requirements and validated data acquisition and output media/formats. He worked with users to test applications, assure software and systems quality and functionality, integrate flight and ground hardware and software components, write and maintain program documentation, evaluate new and improved software applications and programming technologies, and ensure the rigorous application of information security assurance policies, principles, and practices.

Rudy Magasrevy, P.E., CSSBB
Senior Quality and Sustainability Consultant

rudy_magasrevy_headshotRudy brings over 23 years of quality and environmental management systems integration consulting, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and Six Sigma, to Darmic Consulting’s clients.

In his career, he has saved clients over $15.5M using Lean Six Sigma, ISO 9001 & 14001, and benchmarking best practices. He has also developed integrative methodologies for ISO initiatives, which have increased sales from global key accounts for both previous employers and clients.

An integral part of his consulting style is to drive clients become lean and “green” in their business practices. He specializes in “cradle to grave” product lifecycle modifications using ISO and Six Sigma methodologies. Typical deliverables include: roadmaps and action plans that attain maximum customer satisfaction, yield higher profits and ROI, while reducing waste, green houses gases, and energy consumption.

Rudy is a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, and Professional Engineer # E-56027 Certificate from the State of Ohio.

Rudy is a member of American Society of Quality (ASQ), Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA), and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is fluent in English and Spanish, and possesses basic Portuguese and Italian and Essential Mandarin language skills.

Enrique Beckerman, CSSBB, CMQ/OE
Quality and Sustainability Consultant

Specializing in Operations, Quality Improvement, and Sustainability Consulting, Enrique has 30+ years of business experience in Manufacturing, Research and Development, Quality Assurance, and Business Development in numerous industries.  He has assisted companies in implementing ISO-9001: 2000, CE Marks, ISO- 13485, and c-GMPs for food, drugs, cosmetics and medical devices. Enrique has worked extensively in international settings including Mexico, Brazil, Asia, and the United Kingdom.

In his professional career, Enrique has led and participated in initiatives that have resulted in success stories posted on the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) website with documented financial impacts to clients of approximately $10 million. He has led a plant turn-around that resulted in profits of $6 million, directed technology transfers, and managed multi-plant domestic and overseas operations.

Enrique is an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) and ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE). He is also an MEP Certified Facilitator of Lean Manufacturing Principles, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen Rapid Improvement Events.

Enrique is the Section Chair of The American Society for Quality (ASQ) of Greater Palm Beach. He won the ASQ 2004- 2005 Award for Community Service. He has an MBA from Rockford College, an MS in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology, and a Chemical Engineering degree from City College of the University of New York.

Marco Kazmi

With over 30 years of quality management and ISO 9001 implementation expertise in the aeronautical, logistics, manufacturing, and transportation industries, Marco Kazmi helps DARMIC Consulting’s clients to employ and maintain successful quality management systems. He has worked for American Airlines, Pan American Airlines, B.F. Goodrich, Airways Express, Airways International, Arrow Air, Executive Aero Services, AVBORNE Heavy Maintenance, and Miami Air International in the quality management implementation, audit, surveillance, and training capacities.

Marco received his BS and MBA from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and obtained his Airframe and Power Plant License (A&P) from G.T. Banker Technical Aviation School. He holds the following licenses: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Level III C.A.S.E. Auditor, and AAA Airframe and Power Plant (A & P).
